Hi, I’m Dan Neatherway. I set up www.fromthehip.tv around 6-7 years ago, I set about creating wedding films unobtrusively. This all came about because I attended friends and families weddings where the cameramen were, at best, lazy, uninterested, at worst, in everyone’s faces and complete divas. (These guys are still out there – beware….) I was a cameraman/editor/teaboy for a company making corporate videos, and decided to setup on my own.

A few years down the line, we are filming 50-60 weddings a year, with around 95% of couples saying the same thing – we want something unobtrusive. I spend all my spare time inventing on that damned invisibility paint…

A little about me, in case you are interested. I am 32 – 33 next month. Life is flying past, mainly due to my two little kiddies that take up all my spare time. Sofia is 2.5 and Lucas is 8 months. Becoming a dad was easily the greatest thing I have done, they are so coool.

Other interests are technology, obviously, rugby watching, snowboarding, squash, cameras, apple macs and snowboarding again. In fact, a lot of this blog might be more about my holidays than the wonderful weddings we create….

I love music, as do most people – difficult to categorise as I change my mind like the wind. There are a few favourite mainstays, Bowie, Elbow, BRMC, Black Keys, Ray LaMontagne, Arcade Fire, Nick Cave, and then some new found genius, Mumford and Sons, Black Angels, Laura Marling, Priscilla Ahn – love discovering new stuff, sharing discoveries with friends, live music, old music. Its always on, in the background, like a soundtrack to my day.
