Just search for From The Hip and like that page!! We will be updating it with videos and content from this years weddings!!
Okay, I am finding it really tough to find the time to take a day off, let alone update blogs etc etc, so massive apologies upfront. Needless to say, we are lots of weddings down the line since my last entry, back when everything was calm and almost manageable. That said, we have had some absolute crackers this season, great venues, parties, weather (okay, August was a bit of a washout, but I smell an Indian Summer….)
Will definitely update more often from now. Honest…
Sun comes out, sun goes in, sun comes out, sun goes in, Dan throws his camera into the lake!!! Okay, consistent light is not a life and death situation, but I wish it would make its blinking mind up!
Hartsfield Manor is a cracking venue in Betchworth, Surrey, and Sophie the Wedding Organiser there is completely brilliant. Tucking guests labels in, pinning on buttonholes and generally being completely on top of things. I asked if she had a half day when she said she was leaving at 4pm, turns out she was up at 5.30am to get to work in time to set up…sorry Sophie.
Tom and Lisa had a great day, Tom wished he had a bit of an earlier night – 4am is not an ideal time to go to bed before your wedding day, eh Tom! Still, he powered through and had a cracker. He nailed the speech too! Lisa seemed relieved the day was finally here – organising a wedding with three kiddies must have been exhausting…
DJ Dan from www.soundbookings.com had a lot to contend with – England vs USA in the venue bar, but still managed to get a packed dancefloor. Nice work Dan. Nice name too…
Wowweeeee, here is Sophie and Jason’s highlights film!!
Saturday was tough – not going to lie, bright is an understatement. Nuclear is an understatement. So hot in fact that the glue on my camera handstrap gave out – Sony’s glue I might add, not a home-made job!! Still, better than rain and wind hey!!
The B&G, Daniel and Jo got married in Ruilslip, then onto the lavish surroundings of the Wentworth Club, where it took all my restraint not to dive in their outdoor pool. James Davidson was the photographer – and what a fine gent he is too. Check out his site here www.jamesdavidson.com, you won’t regret it. Also worthy of note is the band that provided the evenings entertainment – The Kicks – they had it all turned up to 11. You can reach them following this link here.
My other camera-folk had great days too, Ramster was in full bloom and looking gorgeous….
Will post some video when production has commenced….Congrats to all three couples whose weddings we attended this weekend!! Editing is taking place….
So this blog thing, going to use it to show great stuff when we get it, will be posting videos, from weddings and otherwise, plus it will be a place where couples and guests can comment on the day and the films. Looking forward to updating it next week, we have three on Saturday, Jo and Dan at Wentworth Club, Laura and Richard at Ramster and Catherine and ?? (sorry, it only came in yesterday…) at Ashdown Park Hotel. Hope the sun shines…
This week’s weddings are taking place at Ashdown Park Hotel, (www.ashdownpark.com), the incredibly wonderful Wentworth Golf Club (www.wentworthclub.com) and the utterly gorgeous Ramster (ramsterweddings.co.uk). I went to Ramster last week with my family – the gardens are open to the public for two months out of the year, if you can get there, go – it is UNBEEELEEEVABLE!! Will report on the goings on as they happen!!
Hey everyone, bit late to the WP Party. Will be updating this ever-so-interesting blog every week to update everyone on the life and times of Dan at From The Hip. I know, gripping. I am quite literally on the edge of my seat….
